SSVP proposed for Nobel Peace Prize

The International Confederation of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul was proposed by the FEBESP (Federation of Charity, Philanthropy and Religious Institutions of the State of Sao Paulo, Brazil) in December 2007 for the Nobel Peace Prize 2008 to the Norwegian Nobel Committee in Oslo, Norway. The Society was proposed for the extraordinary work since over 175 years now done by over 700.000 members in over 144 countries worldwide.
Audits up and running!

Our Annual Audits are taking place and we remind all Conferences that Audit Forms must be returned to the National Office by Monday 18 February 2008 in order to comply with OSCR guidelines.
Warning! Internet fraudsters posing as SSVP!

It has been brought to our attention that a group of people claiming to represent the Society of St Vincent de Paul are approaching members of the public in the US in an attempt to solicit illegal funds. They claim to work for the St Vincent de Paul Orphanage in the UK which does not exist. Please click on the link to read more.

Relocation of Frederic Ozanam Centre Glasgow

The Ozanam Centre has successfully moved to the Briggait after many wonderful years in Parnie Street. The centre distributes clothing and toiletries to the homeless in Glasgow and surrounding area. Uplift for ladies clothing is 16.30 - 17.30 Wednesday. Uplift for gentlemens clothing is 18.30 - 19.30 Thursday.
