Who are we

We currently have 12 active members consisting of 4 women and 8 men. We meet on a Thursday at 7.30pm in the sacristy.

Helping our neighbours

At Easter we distribute cream eggs to children and young people after Mass and, at Christmas, we give out selection boxes after Mass. Also, at Christmas, we appeal to parishioners to donate gifts for children and young people who do not normally get an abundance of presents. We also get donations of gifts and groceries for some older people of the parish.

Young people

We visit the local St.Mary's Primary School in Alexandria, 4 times per year and talk with the primary 7 class about the Society and its work.

Caravan Holidays

In the Summer we make use of the SSVP Caravan Project by applying to send families to the caravans in Saltcoats.

Sick and Housebound

Taxis are provided every Sunday for those parishioners who would otherwise find it difficult to attend Mass. On the second Sunday of every month our parish priest, Fr.Bacon, celebrates Mass in the Vale of Leven Hospital and we help to wheel patients from the wards to the hospital chapel.
