Meeting:
Our Conference here in St Leonards consists of 16 members, eight men and eight women.
We meet on Tuesday evenings at 7:30pm in the Church Call Room.
Food Parcels:
Families:
Our members visit many local people in their homes and in the residential areas of Davar in the St Leonard's area and Wingate in the Calderwood area. We also visit Hairmyres Hospital each Thursday evening all year round, with sweets and biscuits. If it is made known to us by a family member, we are glad to visit any parishioner, who may be in Hairmyres Hospital or confined at home. Also, in times of bereavement our members are there for support.
Each year we normally send at least one Family on holiday to Seaton Sands.
Over the last year we have supplied items of furniture, cookers and fridge freezers to various families.
Each Sunday, we run a bus for 10 and 12 noon Mass for our senior citizens.

Through the Diocesan Furniture Project, as a trial period, we have the services of the Hamilton Furniture Initiative. Their telephone number is: 01698 820608. On calling them and describing what you have for uplift, they will arrange to pick it up, provided it is suitable. It will then be redistributed to someone in need.
We give financial aid to our Conferences in Disaster and troubled areas. Also our work in India, where we have a Twinning arrangement, involves many local projects, such as, sponsoring student’s education for a year, the construction of small buildings and the sinking of freshwater wells.
We also assist Refugee Families financially, by means of Phone Cards, who are at present in Dungavel in the Strathaven area. This is done through St Patrick’s, Strathaven and is one of the Motherwell Diocesan Projects.
If you know of anyone in our area who might be in need of help, be it a visit, or financial help. Just drop a note in the SSVP box at any of the Weekend Masses or speak to any member of the SVDP. Alternatively: you can e-mail us using this address: mw05042@ssvpscotland.com
Bus Run:
Each year we have an outing for the elderly and infirm of the Parish to the Benedictine Monastery in Largs.
