As I sit at my window this morning, aware that although according to the clocks, we moved into British Summertime at the weekend and the weatherman moved us into spring at the equinox on March 20th, I can see that winter still clings on by her hands, as I will need to go and scrape the ice off the car windows before I go out today!
In many ways this can reflect our Lenten journey….life’s journey. We try so hard in Lent to be faithful to our Lenten promises, trying to journey with Jesus on His path to Calvary. Some days we feel closer to the Lord, then other days we just seen to struggle.
Yet, as I look out the same window at ice covered cars, I see buds on the trees, daffodils and primroses bringing colour to the gardens and a flock of birds have just flown across the sky, making their way back after their winter migration; signs of HOPE that summer IS with us, slowly ebbing away the cold of winter.
So too with the Risen Jesus.
HE IS WITH US.
HE IS RISEN.
We see Him in the signs of HOPE around us…
…..the kindness and thoughtfulness of others …..the love shown, the prayers offered and so.much more.
This Easter look for these of HOPE around you. BE a sign of hope to others so that they might know the Risen Jesus through your actions.
Christ has no body now but YOURS and mine.
Go out to the whole world and share the Good News.
May the Risen Jesus fill your heart with joy and hope this Easter.
Easter blessings,
Sr Maria x
