Wonderful news for Paisley SSVP Furniture Project!
Recently the vehicle used for the above Project failed it’s
MOT and was subsequently declared unroadworthy. Without such a vehicle there is no Furniture Project and the essential assistance it provides to those in need no longer exists.
Consequently an appeal was made to the various SSVP Conferences in the Diocese for donations to fund a replacement vehicle. A generous response was received together with a substantial donation from the National SSVP.
Despite this generosity, there was still a significant shortfall
of funds to enable us to purchase a suitable replacement
vehicle.
A successful application was made to the National Lottery,
Community Fund for the sum of £10,000. With such a contribution and in addition to those from the various Conferences and the National SSVP, a replacement vehicle was purchased.
It is a VW Crafter box van with a tailgate which is essential for
the work we carry out. At the request of the National Lottery, photographs of the vehicle were obtained to publicize the success of the appeal and below are such photographs with two members of the Project.
A sincere thank you to all those who contributed to this
appeal.
