Vincentian Competition – ‘Finding Vince 400’

INTERNATIONAL VINCENTIAN FAMILY – FAMVIN COMPETITION

‘FINDING VINCE 400’

International Vincentian Family (Famvin), are having an International Film Festival and competition, dedicated to Saint Vincent de Paul in order to promote the globalisation of the charity.

It will be held in Castel Gandolfo in Rome, 18-21 October 2018.

The Society of St Vincent de Paul worldwide encourages the strategy of sharing our ideas, our stories, which enables us to change the face of poverty in a visual way – through the arts, music, and film.

‘Finding Vince 400’is designed to provide the Vincentian Family with an international platform through which we will engage these mediums in our efforts to eradicate poverty. Through the platform of this festival, we could help to tap the creativity of artists around the world, and especially within the Vincentian Family, on multiple levels:

There are 3 sections in the competition:

  1. Seeds of Hope, is aimed at the “under 18”: the contestants of this section are invited to use any creative expression (story, poetry, image, sculpture, music, etc.) that inspires direct service to the poor. The artists selected by the jury will be invited to the festival and awarded a trip to Castel Gandolfo.
  2. Attention Screenwriters: five will win a trip to Rome and a grant to produce their screenplay for a short film. These short films will be premiered at Castel Gandolfo.
  3. Budding Filmakers: will see short films or films in competition on the theme “Finding Vince 400.” The jury will select films that inspire direct service to the poor and change our vision of poverty. These films will be premiered at Castel Gandolfo during the Festival.
