Reflection from Sr Maria Robb as we enter the first week of Advent.

All around the shops there are reminders of the number of shopping days left until Christmas. I’m not sure  if this is meant to excite us , or just send us into a panic!

The Church does a similar countdown with Advent, but in Advent, each week is given a specific focus.
Our focus for Week 1 is, ‘STAY AWAKE’.

STAY Awake for what?
Perhaps the invitation this year is to be more aware of living your call as a Vincentian. St Vincent reminds us that we meet Jesus in every person.

A simple challenge for this first week of Advent 2025…..to be more aware, especially as you carry out your service, that you are meeting and serving Jesus. Take time too, to reflect on your encounter with Him.

Look how the shepherds and kings were changed when they met Jesus that very first Christmas.
May we be AWAKE to recognise Him and OPEN to be changed by Him.
