During Lent many of our young children receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation together first time. Over the past few weeks I have had the joy and privilege of helping to prepare some children in our parish who will receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time this week!
What an amazing moment. This is the first Sacrament they will have received since their Baptism.

I spent a number of years preparing deaf children for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. The Word ‘reconciliation’ was too big a mouthful and a difficult word to understand, so we always called it the Sacrament of LOVE; the Sacrament where we experience in a beautiful way the amazing love of God who accepts us as we are, with all our failings, and loves us into life.

What could be more amazing than simply accepting the abundant, unconditional love of God who desires to fill us with His love.

The Constitutions of the Daughters of Charity describe the Sacrament of Reconciliation as, ‘An encounter of Love with the Lord who forgives’.

How blessed are we to be able to receive such a beautiful sacrament!!!
