The tim has once again rolled around for the SSVP Pilgrimage to World Youth Day. After a successful trip to Brazil in 2013, a group of 9 young people and leaders will travel to Krakow to take part in both the Vincentian Youth Days, and World Youth Day itself. 2 million people from around the world are expected at the event.
Vincentian Youth Days– 23rd to 25th July
1600 Vincentians will gather at ‘Rodosna Nowina 2000’ (Joyful News 2000) to take part in 3 days of lectures, cultural shows and spiritual celebrations.
World Youth Day- 26th to 31st July
The SSVP group will continue to stay at Radosna Nowina 2000 while taking part in World Youth day events. The group will join in with a variety of events, including catechises, shows and Stations of the Cross, in addition to the major events which will be presided over by Pope Francis. The culmination of the World Youth Days is the walking pilgrimage to the final vigil site the day before the final Mass. 2million people are expected to sleep under the stars in anticipation of Pope Francis’ celebration of Mass on Sunday 31st July.
