 Another successful National Meeting

SSVP Scotland held it’s Annual National Meeting at Celtic Park on Saturday and are pleased  to announce that it was a great success. 170 members from across the country descended on the venue to pray, celebrate and learn together.  Outgoing International Vice President General Brian O’ Reilly provided a thought provoking and interesting keynote speech on the theme of ‘Blessed are the Merciful’.

Brian, who hails from Northern Ireland, has served on a number of national and  international committees over the years and has served as  the chair of CIAD(Commission for International Aid and Development)  for the past six years.

Brian used the words of principal SSVP founder Frederic Ozanam to illustrate the requirement for SSVP to train and develop members.

“Serving our neighbour for the love of God and promoting the dignity of mankind cannot be achieved by second-rate and sub-standard performance…only the best is good enough”.

A full summary of Brian’s excellent speech will be available in the coming days.

SSVP Scotland would like to thank everyone who made the 2016 National Meeting a success, with a special mention to our Communications Officer Matt Meade and the Master of Ceremonies for the day, Jim O’ Hagan.
